In the groovy early 1970s, the electric fondue pot was a novelty, and often the star of the cocktail party. From Swiss fondue appetizers with melted cheese and bread chunks for dipping to hot chocolate dessert fondue with sliced apples and pears, this was a fun and stylish way to entertain. In fact, many hostesses decided they couldn't do with just one fondue pot, and the buffet table would be laden with several, each offering up a different treat.
Here we have Oster's electric fondue pot, a favorite wedding gift of the era. It is in really good, gently used condition, and still in its original box. The box sticker says this is model 681 in "Flame" red. Included are the electrical base with cord and heat control dial from high to low, red fondue pot with nonstick interior, silver tone metal rim piece with slots to rest the fondue forks, black lid, and 12 fondue forks original to this set -- six long, six shorter, color coded so guests don't grab the wrong fork. The forks are also in their original boxes.
