Fisher SA-300-B tube amp. 90w.
This amp works and sounds great.
Rated at 90w with excellent full range output. The perfect amp for those lower efficiency speakers with its bass response and damping.
This is fishers lab grade reference amp and it does not dissappoint.
I've been enjoying it for a couple months on heresies and It's marvelous.
I checked it out and replaced the selenium bias rectifier with a modern non-poisonous gas diode and readjusted the bias.
The amp biased up fine and all the balance adjustments were ok.
Volume controls are good.
Cleaned potentiometers and controls.
It draws normal-ish power and I'm running the 4 amp fuse called for.
The only thing that really needs to be done is replace the power supply filter capacitors and rebalancing/bias for a set of output tubes.
I AM NOT including the power tubes. These are a cheap set of Chinese tubes for testing and the amp demands a set of good tubes.
Fisher already used good film capacitors in the signal path so replacing those is a matter of taste.
The cage is included. It had a hole drilled previously then covered and repainted.
Included is the rectifier tubes, a pair of new-testing 6198's and a pair of strong mullard 12ax7's. Both tubes are excellent sonically.
